Saeed Arida is the Founder and Chief Excitement Officer of NuVu Studio, a full time innovation school based in Cambridge, MA. Dr. Arida received his PhD in Design Computation as a Presidential Fellow at MIT, where his doctoral research examined the intricacies of the creative process and the nature of creativity. This work explored how an educational environment can nurture creative learning, which formed the pedagogical framework for NuVu, a new studio education model that nurtures students’ creative and innovative skills.

Saba Ghole is the Co-founder and Chief Creative Officer of NuVu Studio. She's an architectural/urban designer turned education and technology entrepreneur. Her multidisciplinary explorations in painting, photography, graphic design, film, architecture and urban planning have formed her holistic understanding of design and creative education. Saba is also an Affiliate at the Berkman Klein Center for Internet and Society, an INK Fellow, and a TEDxSanJoseCA speaker.

Like most of the other people on this page, Emily is a former architectural designer turned enthusiastic NuVu-er with deep interests in multidisciplinary design and creative education. As someone who never wanted to leave school, she loves being able to work with such a wide range of educational institutions through NuVuX. Emily worked for several years in residential and corporate architecture firms before joining the team at NuVu in 2016, where she has been working to build innovative K-12 programs with schools around the world.

Kristina joined NuVu in 2018 after an accomplished 10+ year career in architecture and has helped to grow NuVuX into the program it is today. As an Architect, Kristina specialized in large scale projects for academic institutions, including Smith College, Columbia University, Davidson College, and Princeton University. She previously taught at the Boston Architectural College and is a Licensed Architect in the State of California.  The person writing this thinks Kristina’s bread baking skills are epic.

Ji is a learning specialist passionate about curriculum design and educational programming. She aims to teach students the creative role artists, designers and makers play in their community while instilling a passion for lifelong learning and civic engagement. She joined NuVu in 2018 as a Design Coach and has taught several interdisciplinary studios such as Paper Politics, Underwater Soft Robotics, and Devices for Activism. She programmed the first ever NuVu’s Young Artists’ Guild as well as Theater and Its Double, a collaboration with the Central Square Theater.

James is a cross-disciplinary designer, educator, and researcher who has led projects across a variety of contexts and industries, including research on earthquake resiliant building systems in India, entrepreneurial education in Mongolia, participatory urban design workshops in the US and Colombia, and research on the role of design and policy to reduce mass incarceration in the US. In his spare time, James is a photographer, triathlete, aspiring marathoner, sushi chef, hibernating percussionist, and a Spanish speaker in-training.

Ramzi is an architect, researcher, and educator based between Boston, MA and Beirut, Lebanon. During Ramzi’s graduate studies at Harvard’s GSD, his thesis tackled questions of territory, geopolitics, and architecture within the Syrian context. At the GSD, he was also a teaching assistant, research assistant, and instructor for a course on architecture and nation building. Ramzi has also worked at Polypod, a multidisciplinary studio based in Beirut, and has curated a number of exhibitions and installations at Harvard.

He has consistently bounced between the worlds of architecture, engineering, and computation in projects ranging from simulations of DNA behavior to design strategies for astronauts in deep space.  In whatever time is left after working with students in the WUHSMS Innovation Lab and building computational models of infrastructure projects at home, Max enjoys gravel riding and running ideally on steep inclines.

Amanda is an interdisciplinary designer whose work and research is positioned at the intersection of biology, technology, and human experience. She has participated in art exhibitions internationally and has been artist in residence at galleries in Vancouver and Barcelona. Her professional experience includes work on speculative futures and designing with living materials at Terreform ONE in Brooklyn, New York. When she is not running and designing studios with NuVuX, you might find her practicing yoga, playing her casio keyboard, hiking, or enjoying ocean activities.

Tiandra is a dynamic designer and educator, with a passion for providing design education access to local communities. She was the Fellow at the Fessenden school for two years before moving to launch the Eliot School program. An accomplished jazz vocalist, Tiandra hosts her own show for the MIT radio station. She was recently recognized in the New Yorker Magazine for her spoken word composition and performance of Heal! - A battle poem for the climate and its defenders with the MIT Jazz Ensemble.

Kyle recently received his graduate degree from MIT, where he worked as a researcher at the Self-Assembly Lab, and explored the role of design and technology within digital fabrication. Kyle has worked as a designer for the Garage Museum of Contemporary Art in Moscow, as an architect for The Crown Prince of Dubai, and as a project manager in Shanghai. His work has been exhibited at the Venice Biennale in Italy, the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, the Pompidou Centre in Paris, and the Het Nieuwe Instituut in Rotterdam.
