Article by Dina Chehab (NuVuX team) featuring reflections from Al Rowad International School teachers.

It may be summer, but learning hasn’t stopped. Educators from Al Rowad International School Riyadh traveled to Karam Evi in Reyhanlı, Turkey, for a one-week deep dive into hands-on, studio-based learning. Together with our students at Karam House, they explored the studio model through immersive, collaborative experiences. In a dynamic space-themed studio, teachers and students worked together to imagine the future of space travel—designing innovative rovers built to survive extreme environments on the Moon. From electronics to digital fabrication, they experimented with cutting-edge tools to bring their futuristic visions to life.

"My visit to Karam House provided invaluable exposure to real-world applications. The experience deepened my understanding of the program and equipped me with the skills to implement and plan effectively based on the training received. I felt incredibly fortunate to work closely with the expert mentors at Karam House, who impressed me with their unwavering energy and passion during the sessions. The interactions with the students at Karam House clearly showcased how they are trained independently to complete their projects and present their products at different levels of production. This collaborative environment allowed me to explore ideas together with the students, further enriching my experience. These interactions were a significant plus, adding immense value to the entire program. This opportunity significantly enhanced my knowledge, and I am eager to pursue further chances to elevate my understanding from a basic level to that of an expert." - Nilofer Masoom, Deputy Head of School( 7-12) Girls’ Section

This is a message from Raiyan Anwar, the Cross Curricular Program Team Leader at Al Rowad International School in Riyadh.

“After attending a few workshops with the NuVuX team - the work of Karam House clearly stood out for me. Implementing the studio model in our school in Riyadh was a breath of fresh air, but also a new learning journey—not just for students, but for staff too. In our drive to transform student learning, we sometimes overlook the importance of empowering those leading it: our educators. So we're deeply grateful to the Karam Foundation team for welcoming our staff with such generosity and for modeling what a thriving, inquiry-driven environment looks like in action.

With the new academic year ahead, we are excited to see how this visit propels us forward with fresh new ideas and practices that put creativity and purpose at the heart of our education.” - Raiyan Anwar

Those reflections truly capture our mission to empower educators and students through bold, creative learning experiences. We’re thrilled for the new academic year—full of fresh ideas, groundbreaking projects, and unstoppable collaborations that will inspire innovation in every classroom!
