The NuVuX Innovation Camp for Educators (NICE) introduces participants to NuVu’s design process. In this camp, you will tap into your innate creativity and gain first hand experience in the collaborative studio environment. You’ll learn how to use a studio framework to develop your problem solving skills and integrate this creative mindset within your school.
Our Innovation Camp is specifically geared toward K-12 educators, including teachers, innovation directors, STEM/STEAM coaches, technology coordinators, R&D directors, department heads, and administrators. We encourage schools to organize small teams to participate in the Camp for maximum effectiveness. Our hands-on Innovation Camp enables participants to discover new ways of bringing creative and real world problem solving into their schools.

After morning coffee, pastries, and introductions, we will embark on a rapid review of NuVuX design pedagogy. Attendees will then break into groups and participate in the studio experience first-hand.
On day two, we will continue where the studio process left off. This is a day filled with rapid prototyping, feedback, and iteration. Attendees will let their imaginations run wild in pursuit of an innovative design solution that will fulfill their design brief. The day concludes with enthusiastic presentations, encouraging feedback, and delightful awards. A social food-filled mixer will follow.
On the final day of NICE, attendees participate in a series of one-hour workshops tailored to provide comprehensive training on highly-requested aspects of the NuVuX design pedagogy (including prototyping!).
As a participant of NICE, you will experience NuVu’s studio model and design process by working on a collaborative, hands-on project. With the support of NuVuX Experts, you will learn how to integrate this creative mindset within your classroom, school, or learning environment.

Our studio-based learning model comes from NuVu, an innovation school for middle and high school students whose pedagogy is based on the architectural studio model in which students learn through hands-on collaborative projects.
While at NuVu, students engage in a rigorous design process that includes brainstorming, prototyping, iteration and review, all the while working collaboratively to solve complex real-world problems. NuVu’s studio model promotes creativity, critical thinking and innovation skills.
NuVuX connects this pedagogy with schools and organizations across the globe, through studio curriculum, professional development, expert teachers and other resources.
The camp will be led by a dynamic and passionate members of the NuVuX Team, who bring a diversity of expertise - including graduates from MIT and Harvard, visual artists, architects, and professionals developing innovative products in various fields. Innovation Camp will take place at the NuVu Studio school at 450 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge MA. We are conveniently located near the MBTA Red Line and several bus routes. Below are a few recommendations for lodging.
